Today I ask a question: Is it the little things or the big things that are most important? So many times we focus on the big things; the big picture and society directs us to go BIG or go home, the BIGGER the better and so many other familiar and popular phrases. However, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. With that said, it is the little things that really matter.

What is big? It is a lot of little things connected to form something sizable. Big will only be successfully formed based upon the proper execution of little. $50,000.00 does not magically total by itself; it is the sum of several smaller denominations added together. A chair does not magically appear by itself; it was once pieces of unformed fabric and building material. So often we focus on the $50,000.00 or the beautiful chair and feel some kind of way because we may not have them yet. When we focus too hard on what we don’t have, we tend to overlook and misuse what we do have. What we must remember, as we keep it moving forward, is that there was a time when the $50,000.00 or completed chair did not exist. Someone assessed what they had, worked the $5.00, $50.00, $500.00, $5,000.00 etc, all the way up to or beyond the $50,000.00. Someone saw the piece of cloth and the material they had as something else other than useless pieces and formed a chair. Please don’t miss what you do have and what it can be simply by focusing on what it is now. It’s time to have that paradigm shift. What do you have, what can you do with it, and how can you multiply it?

So how do you eat an elephant? The answer is still one bite at a time. Not deep but a simple and profound reminder that what you do with your little really does matter. Your little, with consistency and the right vision, is what grows, forms and completes your big. Someone saw that piece of cloth and material as something beyond what it was. What is it in your house that you have that seems so small and insignificant but is a creation waiting to happen? What can you invest in to start the process of that $5.00 turning into $50,000.00 or more? Brainstorm and be creative. There is something phenomenal waiting to form from your paradigm shift about and execution of your little.
