I am or I was just thinking about you are words that we hear often when we reach out to someone that we haven’t spoken to in a while.  We go along with it and respond with niceties or say, oh you were, and continue on with a moment of fake exchange.  During our moment of fakeness, we’re thinking, “you know good and well you weren’t thinking about me.”  Ok, maybe not you, but I’ll speak for me.  Granted, there are sometimes they are thinking about you and you just beat them to connecting.  But, most of the time, my mindset at that moment is one of if you were thinking about me, you would’ve or should’ve called or texted me and as we see – that didn’t happen.

Thoughts are very powerful.  As you know, or heard, everything begins with a thought.  Usually, we use this as it relates to the creation of something tangible. What if we use that same concept for the intangible?  What if our thought of someone, and reaching out to them, is what creates a better day for them?  What if reaching out creates an opportunity for making a better decision?  What if reaching out to someone is the reason they keep going?  These are questions I’m asking to the one that is “too busy, “I’ll do it later”, “I forgot” or the one that lets the thought pass through their mind and does not act on it and reach out.  For those of us that actually do act on these thoughts and reach out, KUDOS!!  Keep up the great work!!  I know sometimes it’s difficult and we wonder if, when and why people don’t check on us.  Yes, we, because I wonder that too.  I’ve even said, God, You put people on my mind, will You put me on someone else’s mind too.  The sad truth is that He does but they don’t always act on it, not realizing what it could mean or the difference it could make if they did.  If you are one of those ones that think “all I need is God and nobody else” and have lost sight of your humanity, then this is not for you.  This is for those of us who know that we need God but also believe that we need each other too.

I am or I was thinking about you should be the words you are saying when you call or text someone to check on them.  Remember, even the strongest people appreciate being checked on occasionally.  And, on the flip side, reaching out to someone can be what you need too.  It could be an answer you’re looking for, much needed encouragement, direction, or a reminder of why you don’t reach out to them more often 😊😊😊.  A simple text or phone call from you can make all the difference in the world just as there are certain times it makes a huge difference to you.  We are grateful for those who check on us so let us be the one that someone is grateful for.  Please, check on someone to make sure they are ok and to let them know – I am thinking about you.
